Quiapo Vendors Express Dismay Over ‘Batang Quiapo’ Taping: “Nakakaistorbo sa benta”

Quiapo Vendors to ‘Batang Quiapo’ Taping: “bumababa sales namin pag nanjan kayo

Several Quiapo vendors allegedly expressed their dismay over ‘Batang Quiapo’ taping for causing a disturbance and affecting their sales.

After several issues such as the negative portrayal of a Muslim character, colorism, and others, the action-drama series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” is facing another controversy as vendors complained that their taping was causing a disturbance and affecting their sales.

This was discussed by Ogie Diaz with co-hosts Mama Loi, Tita Jegs, and Ate Mrena on their showbiz vlog “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update.” Ogie was surprised as he believed that sales should actually be increasing because, aside from the people who could buy from them, they could also be promoted and visited by those who wanted to watch the filming or see the artists.

However, what was happening was that if people were just passing by and not watching, some were not being allowed to pass through, which prevented them from reaching the vendors’ stalls.

They also shared the Facebook post of someone named “Abe Elaine” who seemed to be complaining that their sales were decreasing because of the filming.

“Dear FPJ, Batang Quiapo! kung mag shooting kayo wag naman araw araw bumababa sales namin pag nanjan kayo eh haystttt coco hanggang kelan nanaman kaya tong palabas mo,” Elaine wrote on her post.

Ogie suggested that ABS-CBN and the production team should address this issue. Coco Martin or the ABS-CBN management has yet to release a statement regarding this matter.
