Coco Martin shared the overwhelming feeling he had to be Sharon Cuneta’s director
Kapamilya actor Coco Martin revealed the reason why he avoided Megastar Sharon Cuneta when they were shooting for Ang Probinsyano.
Aside from being the lead actor in the said defunct Kapamilya series, Coco was also a director. The action-drama series has guested a lot of artists and one of them was Sharon.
In a recent episode of the Kapamilya morning talk show Magandang Buhay, Coco received a message from Sharon. The Megastar said that the actor-director is receiving a lot of blessings because he is a good person.
Coco Martin also shared how he invited Sharon Cuneta to join the Ang Probinsyano cast. The actor-director said that he was thinking of ideas for the series when suddenly the Megastar entered his mind. He did not know where that came from but he suddenly thought of the seasoned actress-singer.
Coco brought up his idea to Cory Vidanes, Chief Operating Officer for Broadcast of ABS-CBN Corporation, and it was easily approved. Sharon and Coco first had their conversation via Zoom and the Megastar expected him to present the story to her.
“Sabi ko patay! Wala along kwento, wala akong idea, di ko alam kung anong mangyayari. Instant doon ko binubuo ang kwento niya,” Coco shared.
During the shoot, for several days, Coco was trying to avoid Sharon. It is because he is shy toward her. The Megastar status of Sharon in the entertainment industry can make other artists feel shy to approach her.
“Kasi natatakot ako. Totoo ba? Sharon Cuneta idi-direk mo? Maniniwala ba siya sa’yo na ikaw nagbibigay ng lines,” the actor-director said. Then, Sharon noticed that Coco was avoiding her and so she jokingly said that their director does not like her. Later on, Coco decided to take away the “hiya” that he felt and became close to Sharon.
