Bagyong Dodong Exits PAR But New Tropical Storm May Enter This Weekend

Bagyong Dodong whose intenational name is Noul exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) earlty Tuesday and heads toward the are of Japan. PAGASA noted that as of 4:00 AM today, the typhoon was located 830 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes.

The fourth typhoon that hits the Philippines is packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 140 kph. All public storm warning signals in different parts of the country was already lifted by the country’s weather bureau.

Although Bagyong Dodong exited the Philippines, PAGASA warned that they are now monitoring a new tropical storm tha may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by this weekend.

Basep upon PAGASA’s forecast, the new weather disturbance may take the same route as “Bagyong Dodong.” The forecast tropical cyclone with international name “Dolphin” will be called Bagyong “Egay” once it enters the country.

Meanwhile, the country’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that Bagyong Dodong destroyed more than P15 million worth of infrastructure and agicultural crops in Ilocos Norte and Cagayan Valley.

The report noted that 11 classrooms in seven schools in Sta. Ana town, Cagayan have incurred minor damaged due to the typhoon.
