Pinoy Fisherman Floating in Open Sea Rescued by Chinese Vessel
EAST PHILIPPINE – A Chinese vessel was able to rescue a Pinoy fisherman who has been left floating into the open ocean.
Over the past few weeks, the Philippines has been experiencing inclement weather conditions due to various weather systems such as low-pressure areas, shear line, northeast monsoon and localized thunderstorms.
The bad weather condition also causes unstable sea conditions, which may pose risk to seafarers or fisherfolks venturing into the sea. People must always prioritize their own safety first before anything else.
Recently, the Pinoy fisherman identified as Matrix Plaza Pichon of Sta. Felomina, Cateel in Davao Oriental has been rescued by personnel of MV Swift Yangzoe in the East Philippine Sea. The latter has been found floating into the open sea.
MV Swift Yangzoe came all the way from Australia and headed to China when the ship employees found Pichon. Plaza has been rescued and brought to the Philippine Coast Guard – Surigao.
According to the Pinoy ship employee Seaman 1st Joseph Alvin Dacuyan of Philippine Coast Guard Davao Oriental, the ship is approaching Bislig City, Surigao del Sur to get a stable network signal when they found Pichon into the sea. The crews immediately rescued the victim.
Plaza expressed his gratitude towards the kind-hearted seafarers of MV Swift Yangzou for helping him.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard reminded the Filipino fisherfolk to avoid sea ventures during inclement weather conditions.
