Rain or Shine Elasto Painters defeated the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters in Game 6 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals and extend the series to a do-or-die Game 7. The game ended with the final score at 101-93 in favor of the Elasto Painters. The Game 7 of the best-of-seven finals series will be held this coming Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
A total of five players from the Elasto Painters squad scored in double-digits, including the impressive performance of their big man Raymond Almazan and the consistent offense of Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Jeff Chan, who suited up for Game 6 despite suffering from a torn plastar fasciitis.
Talk ‘N Text which needed only one win to capture the title after they led the series with 3-1 advantage took an early 8-0 lead, but Rain or Shine came back strong with the entry of Raymond Almazan who sparked the Elasto Painters offense by scoring 11 points and five rebounds in the opening frame alone.
Gilas Pilipinas veteran Jeff Chan who was initially ruled out for the rest of the series due to his foot injury, entered the game at the start of the contest and provided a boost offensively while inspiring his team with his presence.
Rain or Shine import Wayne Chism dominated the boards during Game 6 with his remarkable 24 rebounds aside from his 18 points performance for the Elasto Painters. Veteran guard Paul Lee also added with 16 points while Jericho Cruz contributed with 10 markers.
Ranidel De Ocampo, one of Gilas Pilipinas stars led the Tropang Texters with 21 points and six rebounds, while Jayson Castro contributed with 17 points and eight assists for Talk ‘N Text.
