Jake Cuenca chose not to leave the Kapamilya network
Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca has this reaction to the offer that he received from the Kapuso network.
Jake is one of the in-demand leading men of ABS-CBN now. His projects come one after the other. The most recent TV project he has is the series The Iron Heart featuring the tandem of Richard Gutierrez and Sue Ramirez.
There had been rumors saying that Jake will transfer to GMA-7. Before becoming a Kapamilya, the actor has done stints on the Kapuso network. In a recent interview, based on the article in Newsko, Jake Cuenca said that he feels honored upon knowing that GMA has an offer for him.
“I’m flattered. Ako naman po ay never akong nag-burn ng bridges sa Channel 7. In fact, may good relationship ako with them,” the actor said. However, he said that he wants to be fair for his current home network. He signed a contract with ABS-CBN. “I’m a Kapamilya and I’m proud to be one,” Jake said.
He smiled when he was told that GMA is willing to wait for his contract with the Kapamilya network to expire. With this, Jake said, “Kahit sinong may taker, sa panahon ng pandemya, sa totoo lang sobrang grateful ko na may takers, alam mo ‘yon?”
He added that he is happy that there are several offers, especially since his home network was ordered to shut down. Jake also said that it is a good thing that there are other platforms to showcase different shows.
There were reports that surfaced about the possibility of collaboration between GMA and ABS-CBN. In with this, Jake shared a positive reaction. “That would be perfect, talaga to be quite honest. Sabi ko nga in this day and age na ‘di ba, parang binigyan tayo ng konting freedom, eh,” he said.
Jake Cuenca pointed out that it is good to see that the entertainment industry has become more inclusive and everyone is willing to help others. For him, it is a dream scenario when GMA and ABS-CBN will collaborate on one project.
