MAINE MENDOZA – Kapuso actress and host Maine Mendoza speaks about former love team Alden Richards and their bashers.
AlDub was one of the most popular love then back then. This love team is composed of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. The love team appeared in the Kalyeserye portion of the “Juan for All, All for Juan” segment of the Kapuso variety show Eat Bulaga.
They were so popular that some of their fans already believed that they are together for real. On October 2015, they finally met. Their hit love story went on through screen and their first meeting in person was phenomenal.
Thousands attended the event making the hashtag #AlDubEBTamangPanahon became a trending topic online with 41 million tweets. This record broke Brazil’s 2014 Fifa World Cup defeat to Germany’s record on Twitter.
What magnet the people to them is their spontaneity when their love team was made. Their interaction started via a split-screen and the rest was history. However, nothing lasts forever.
AlDub got disbanded and was surrounded by controversies. And just recently, speaking about this, one thing Maine is most thankful for is that she and Alden remained friends. They are on good terms and they managed to maintain their friendship.
In an interview, she said, “Grateful din po ako sa friendship namin ni Alden.”
And for their “fans” who bashed them and still locked up in an illusion that she and Alden has children, she gave up on them. She gave up on explaining to them that those are not true.
