PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (October 18)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a new LPA formed inside the Philippine area of responsibility.

On Tuesday (October 18, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. The new low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the new low-pressure area has been spotted at 1,140 kilometers east of northern Luzon. It has a chance to develop into a tropical cyclone although it has no effect yet over the country.

“May nabuong low pressure area sa Dagat Pasipiko, nasa layong 1,140 kilometers silangan ng northern Luzon. Sa kasalukuyang walang epekto ang low pressure area sa ating panahon. Ang magiging kilos o magiging track nitong low pressure area ay patungo sa northern Luzon. Ito ay may tsansa maging bagyo,” Pagasa weather forecaster Aldczar D. Aurelio said.

The Northeasterly Surface Windflow will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Palawan, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will experience similar weather condition due to the Southwesterly Surface Windflow.

The Southwesterly Surface Windflow and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and rest of Luzon will be moderate to rough. Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
