Araneta Coliseum: Venue of NU vs. FEU Game 3 Finals in the UAAP Basketball

The historic Smart Araneta Coliseum is the venue of the Game 3 of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Finals between the National University (NU) Bulldogs and the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws. It was reported earlier that the venue of Game 3 will be held at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena but the UAAP later announced the game will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Game 3 of the UAAP Men’s Basketball finals between the Bulldogs and the Tamaraws will take place this coming Wednesday, October 15, 2014. The Smart Araneta Coliseum asserted their rights to secure the Game 3 of the UAAP Finals.

According to Smart Araneta management, they cited a provision in its contract that the final game of the UAAP finals of the men’s basketball tournament should take place at the 22,000-seater Big Dome.

During the previous games, the Game One (1) of the UAAP Finals took place at the MOA Arena, while the following matches was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The FEU Tamaraws defeated the NU Bulldogs during the Game 1 of the best-of-three finals series with the final score at 75-70, while the Game 2 of the finals was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with the NU Bulldogs tying the series and won against the Tamaraws with the final score at 62-47.

The Game 2 of the UAAP Finals between the NU and the FEU drew a record attendance of 24,896 spectators, considered as the highest turn-out in the history of the Araneta Coliseum, the former world’s largest indoor dome during the early 80’s.

The Game 3 of the FEU Tamaraws vs. the NU Bulldogs will be aired on ABS-CBN Sports and Action starting at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. The game will also be aired live on nationwide radio stations DZMM 630.
