Radio Broadcaster Defaming a Company Arrested for Cyber Libel in Cebu City
Police authorities arrested a radio broadcaster in Cebu City after being accused of cyber libel for defaming a company.
A broadcaster was detained by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) for allegedly defaming a firm in his radio program in Cebu City. Bustamante, Arnold, is the suspect. Samal Island, Davao del Norte resident, age 46
Brig. Gen. Joel B. Doria, head of the PNP ACG, reported that the suspect is currently staying in Sitio Fatima, barangay Apas, Cebu City. On September 23, Ramon Daomilas, Jr., the presiding judge of Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 11, issued an arrest order that led to his capture.
The station is accused of violating Section 4 of Republic Act 10175, often known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. The judge suggested P10,000 bail for his short-term release, based on the report.
The goods produced by a sizable corporation in the city, according to Doria, were severely harmed by Bustamante and were utterly phony and harmful to the general public. The Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) in Central Visayas is presently in charge of Bustamante.
Meanwhile, Rosalio Martinez Abile, a radio commentator who goes by the moniker “Bigwas,” 54, was jailed for violating Section 4 of Republic Act 10175, popularly known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. The radio broadcaster was taken into custody at his Purok Sandiwa, Brgy, home. Tiniguiban near Police Station 1, CIU, and CIDG Palawan in Puerto Princesa City.
