Heartless Contractor Abandons 16 Construction Workers in Aklan
Around 16 construction workers have been left stranded in Aklan after their contractor allegedly abandoned them.
The Facebook page Erwin Tulfo reported that 16 construction workers have been left stranded in Aklan after their contractor abandoned them. The post immediately went viral after it was posted on social media.
The page reported that sixteen construction employees from Cavite and Bulacan have been stranded in Aklan. The poor workers have been allegedly abandoned by their contractors without paying their salaries.
The workers failed to receive their salary from the heartless contractor since May 16, 2022. The local government unit of Aklan is feeding and providing the basic necessities of the poor employees.
Concerned citizens reported the heartbreaking situation of the poor workers to Brigada News FM and DSWD. The helpless employees wanted to return to their respective families in Luzon.
Last Sunday (July 24, 2022), DSWD REGION 6 visited the construction workers to give them P10, 000 each, which can be used to go back to their respective homes. DSWD also give them food supplies for their families.
Tulfo also expressed his gratitude towards Kalibo Brigada News FM, Kalibo Mayor Juris Sucro, and DSWD Region 6 for giving assistance to the workers.
