Drunk Policeman to Face Charges After Beating 2 Construction Workers
TUGUEGARAO CITY – A drunk policeman has been caught on camera beating two construction workers in Santa Praxedes town, Cagayan.
PCpl. Eufrecino Javier Jr. who was assigned at PNP Sta Praxedes is facing criminal and administrative charges after beating poor construction workers in the town of Santa Praxedes, Cagayan.
The construction workers have been identified as Johny Balanay, 23 and Fidel Tainggitan, 54. Javier allegedly offered a cigarette to Balanay who refused to accept because he does not smoke but the cop got offended and beat him.
The drunk cop also mauled Tainggitan. However, the video uploader failed to film the actual beating but he was able to capture the happenings after the incident. The mauling incident happened at PNP Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan where the victims are working.
Javier is on duty during the time of the incident but he was caught drunk and not wearing his police uniform. The suspect has been brought to the Cagayan Police Provincial Office.
The police authorities have also relieved Javier from his post and will conduct an investigation. The video has been taken by a concerned netizen last July 20, 2022.
Cagayan Police Provincial Office director Police Col. Renell Sabaldica said that PNP will not consent the irresponsible cop’s behavior. The suspect will be subject to corresponding sanctions and penalties.
