Viva Films and Vincentiments finally released the official trailer of the movie Maid In Malacañang, written and directed by Darryl Yap.
From the time Direk Darryl teased about his movie pitch, this project has gained much attention on social media. The comments are not just coming from his fans or supporters of the Marcoses but also from those who are critics of the prominent political family in the Philippines.
When the controversial director started to introduce the cast members, comments of excitement and criticisms kept on pouring in. Some accused Direk Darryl of “revisionism” for allegedly trying to change the story about the Marcos family.
He stressed in his posts that the Maid in Malacañang will highlight the last 72 hours of the Marcoses in the Palace before they were forced as people opposing Ferdinand Marcos’s regime held the “People Power.”
In the movie trailer, the director highlighted the emotions of every family member as they were undergoing the toughest time in their lives. Some video clips showcasing the statements of the late President Cory Aquino were also shown, as well as the clip of the Marcos patriarch.
Other cast members, the maids, were also highlighted. It was also noticeable that the official trailer used the song Nosi Balasi by Sampaguita. The movie also said that this is based on the “untold truth.”

Maid in Malacanang will premiere on August 3 starring Cesar Montano, Ruffa Gutierrez, Cristine Reyes, Diego Loyzaga, Ella Cruz, Elizabeth Oropesa, Karla Estrada, Beverly Salviejo, and Robin Padillla.
