Celeste Cortesi Shares Story Behind Her Name
CELESTE CORTESI – Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Silvia Celeste Rabimbi Cortesi revealed the origin of her name.
Celeste Cortesi is a model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was recently crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2022.
The 24-year-old Fil-Italian beauty made her presence known through Miss Earth Philippines 2018 competition. She will represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2022.
In a previous article, Celeste Cortesi revealed that it was Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo who convinced her to join the MUPH 2022. She shared that she initially thought of joining the said pageant next year but Rabiya encouraged her to join this year instead.
Celeste also said that the Ilongga beauty also gave her some advice and it was the “best advice” she got.
“Rabiya told me, ‘You will never be 100 percent prepared. But it’s your choice. It’s either to do it next year or this year.’”
“Rabiya is so straightforward. She was really telling me, ‘Go for it. Don’t think about it too much. You will never be prepared. You just have to send the application and then everything will follow,’” she added.

In a post on her Instagram account last May 14, Celeste Cortesi revealed the origin of her name. She said it was her father who gave her the name.
“‘CELESTE’ in Italian means heavenly, sky blue. My dad would always tell me the wonderful story on how he chose to name me Celeste. After I was born, while he was holding me in his arms, he looked at the sky then he immediately knew my name would be Celeste,” she wrote.
Celeste Cortesi also said that she chose the sky-blue color of her MUPH 2022 final gown because of her father. She was also all praise for Val Taguba who designed her gown for the pageant.
“Celeste is the color I wanted to wear on the final night, in honor of my dad. In every step on that stage I would feel his presence right beside me, my guardian angel,” Celeste said.
