Celeste Cortesi Shares Advice She Received From Miss Universe PH 2020 Rabiya Mateo
MISS UNIVERSE PH 2022 – Beauty queen Celeste Cortesi says it was Rabiya Mateo who convinced her to join MUPH 2022.
Filipino-Italian model and beauty pageant titleholder Celeste Cortesi was crowned Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2022 during the coronation night on April 30. She made her presence known through Miss Earth Philippines 2018 competition.
The 24-year-old beauty queen won a slew of special awards including Best in Swimsuit and Ms. Photogenic. Celeste took home the La Mer en Majeste crown that’s worth 6 million pesos.
Based on a report from PEP, Celeste Cortesi had a conversation with her close friend, Miss Universe PH 2020 Rabiya Mateo before applying for the national pageant. She shared that she initially thought of joining the pageant next year but the Ilongga beauty queen was the one who encouraged her to join this year instead.
“I remember that before submitting my application for Miss Universe Philippines, I was talking to her, and I was opening up about me wanting to join actually next year, not this year…”
“And I was telling her I just want to prepare, to be one hundred percent [ready],” she added.

Rabiya Mateo then gave Celeste Cortesi some advice that helped her decide to send her application to the Miss Universe Philippines. She said “Rabiya told me, ‘You will never be 100 percent prepared. But it’s your choice. It’s either to do it next year or this year.’”
“Rabiya is so straightforward. She was really telling me, ‘Go for it. Don’t think about it too much. You will never be prepared. You just have to send the application and then everything will follow,’” she added.
Cortesi said it was one of the “best advice” she got, and that the Kapuso star was one of the reasons why she decided to go for it.
