Pinay OFW Lost Hard-Earned Cash at Airport, Honest Employee Returned It
A Pinay OFW accidentally lost her hard-earned cash at Laguindingan airport but an honest employee returned it to her.
The Facebook page Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has shared the photos of a Pinay domestic helper who accidentally lost her money at Laguindingan airport. The post quickly circulates online.
An overseas Filipino worker identified as Evangeline Maghanoy was able to go back to the Philippines after Overseas Workers Welfare Administration facilitated her flight. She arrived from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last April 17, 2022.
Unfortunately, Maghanot accidentally lost her hard-earned cash or 40 pieces of 500 Saudi riyals worth P280, 000 at the Laguindingan International Airport in Misamis Oriental.
Luckily, a CAAP employee named Merraflor Simbre found the lost cash at the airport. The honest female worker immediately turned over the cash to the airport office and Maghanoy was able to claim it on the same day.
Simbre who is a facility cleaner at the restroom of the airport’s Passenger Terminal Building Arrival Area earned praises from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines because of her honesty.

“Ms. Merraflor Simbre, a Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines personnel in Laguindingan airport returned 40 pcs. of 500 Saudi Riyal amounting to around 280,000 Philippine pesos, which she found at the CR of the Passenger Terminal Building Arrival Area.
Ms. Simbre, a facility cleaner, displayed an admirable act of honesty and integrity by returning the lost item to Ms. Evangeline Maghanoy, a domestic helper from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, who arrived via Philippine Airlines OWWA flight two days ago, April 17.
Expecting nothing in return, Ms. Simbre showcased CAAP’s core values of integrity and honesty in the course of their service to the public.
The incident was reported by Laguindingan Airport Manager Engr. Job De Jesus to the Office of the Director-General in CAAP Pasay Central Office.
Laguindingan International Airport (IATA Code: CGY) serves the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, and Marawi, as well as the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon. ”
