Netizens Praised Honest Hotel Employee for Returning Lost Bag w/ Cash to Respective Owner
The honest hotel employee in Mexico, Pampanga earned praises and admiration online for returning a lost bag with cash to its respective owner.
A 27-year-old room attendant and room guide identified as Arjay Montemayor shows an act of honesty after returning a lost bag left by their guest at the hotel. Arjay is working at the hotel for only seven months.
Montemayor found the bag that has been accidentally left by the guest at the hotel who checked out last January 4, 2022. He found the bag containing P130, 000 beside the table and even tried to chase the owner but he failed to do so.
Arjay asked another room attendant to accompany him to turn over the lost bag to their supervisor. The owner expressed his gratitude towards the honest hotel crew for returning the bag containing money, which will be used as worker’s payroll.
“Nung lumabas na po yung guest iche-check ko po yung kwarto niya, habang chinecheck ko po yung mga kagamitan sa kwarto, napansin ko nga po yung bag na nasa tabi po siya ng lamesa, nasa baba po. napasnin ko nga po yung bag niya nas nakasilid sa gilid ng lamesa,” Montemayor said.
The hotel management posted Arjay’s honesty online and the latter garnered praises from the online community. The hotel sector head Mar de Jesus said that Arjay will be promoted from project employee status into probationary employee.
“Ipinost ko san Facebook para naman at least kahit papaano marecognize yung empleyado natin na talaga namang mapagkakatiwalaan sa ganitong mga bagay,” de Jesus said.
Aside from promotion, the crew will also receive a plaque of recognition and a lunch treat for his entire family. The hotel will continue to recognize Arjay’s honesty.
