Former Political Party of Sen. Ping Lacson Now Supports Vice Pres. Leni Robredo
PING LACSON – Partido Reporma, the former party of Senator Panfilo Lacson Sr., spoke on their decision to shift support to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo.
Amid the May 2022 Election drawing near, several government officials and political parties have made their bets known to the public. There are also changes and shifting of support as May 9 comes close. Recently, one national party, Partido Demokratikong Reporma, made changes on the presidential candidate that they will support in the upcoming poll.
Sen. Ping Lacson is the former standard-bearer of Partido Reporma. Yesterday, amid rumors that the political party will be supporting another presidential candidate, the Senator resigned from his post as the party’s chairman.
Shortly after Lacson resigned as chairman of Partido Reporma, the party president and Davao del Norte Representative Pantaleon Alvarez confirmed that the party is supporting the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.
Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is running as an independent candidate in the upcoming May 2022 Election. She ranks second in election surveys. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the poor survey results of Sen. Ping Lacson is one of the reasons why his former political party decided to shift support on the presidential race.
Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez also stressed that Vice Pres. Robredo represents the ideals that are aligned with the goal of their party which is to reform the government and give the Filipino people a better future.
The Partido Reporma President remains impressed with the qualifications of Sen. Ping Lacson but claimed that it seems that the people do not want to accept his qualifications. According to him, they respect the choice of their party members whom he tagged as may not be “Pink” but are for Vice Pres. Leni Robredo being reformists. He stressed that the fight for good governance and a better future for the Filipinos will never be limited to a single color.
