Fake Soldier Involved in Investment Scam Arrested for Stealing P40-M
Police authorities arrested a man who was pretending to be a soldier for stealing P40 million from an investment scam.
The suspect has been identified as Crisanto Galicia Rodriguez, according to the police’ report. The suspect also purported to be a member of the Philippine Armed Forces, according to Police Captain Noel Seno of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) -Cavite (AFP).

The guy also displayed an AFP identification card with the rank of Captain on it. According to the CIDG captain, when they checked, they discovered that he was not a regular member.
The suspect was apprehended by the CIDG-Cavite in an entrapment operation in which he was given P75,000 in marked money. In addition, the suspect has a warrant of arrest for estafa crimes in Caloocan and Bulacan.
He acts as though he has a link with a significant developer and construction company. This complaint of ours is requesting P500,000 in order to join the firm, according to Seno.
Rodriguez is said to have been unable to refund the money to the victims thus far. Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) are investigating an alleged new investment fraud in Capiz province.
The governor wrote to the NBI-Capiz and the Capiz Police Provincial Office’s Police Chief, requesting that they launch an in-depth investigation into another “double your money” fraud. Capiz has been on the radar of both the NBI and the PNP for some years, after a number of locals reported becoming victims of investment frauds.
