Woman Visitor in Davao City Jail Nabbed for Bread Filled with Illegal Drugs

Police authorities arrested a woman visitor of Davao City jail after she allegedly attempted to smuggle bread filled with illegal drugs.

Instead of sandwich spread, the bundle of bread that was attempted to be smuggled into a Davao City precinct was exposed to an illicit narcotic known as shabu.’ Jennifer, a 27-year-old woman, was apprehended while attempting to hide a suspected shabu in a bundle of loaf bread.

The narcotics were meant to be brought in for convict Brian, who is being held at the Mandug Police Station. Authorities said the suspect’s buddy was charged with supplying illicit substances.

Jennifer was also found with a smartphone and foil that were thought to be drug paraphernalia, in addition to the shabu. The arrestee is expected to be prosecuted with breaking Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to the Mandug Police Station.

Meanwhile, police at the Davao City Jail-Annex uncovered shabu-related sachets concealed within bananas. The bananas were discovered after 3 p.m. at the search area of the jail

With the fruits, which were wrapped in straw and tape, five packages of the alleged illicit narcotics were discovered. Authorities discovered 3 grams of suspected shabu in total, valued about P45,000. They’re still trying to figure out who put the bananas outside the Davao City Jail-Annex and who they were supposed to go to inside.
