Mayor Isko Moreno Cites Some Supporters are Excited To See Some Candidates

MAYOR ISKO MORENO – The Manila City Mayor and presidential candidate spoke on the “No selfie” rule of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The campaign period for the national election has started. The presidential bets held their proclamation rally in different areas. For Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and his team, they kicked off their campaign in Manila.

Mayor Isko is the standard-bearer of Partido Aksyon Demokratiko. He is running with Doc Willie Ong, the vice-presidential bet of the party. He previously pleaded to those Filipinos who are tired of political dynasties to give him a chance. He stressed that he is neither pro-administration nor pro-opposition as he just wants to lead the country.

Prior to becoming a personality in politics, Mayor Isko made a name in the showbiz industry. He is a former matinee idol and one of the most handsome celebrity faces. He is vocal that his work as an actor then helped him take himself out from poverty.

One of the common scenarios during the pre-pandemic campaign period is supporters taking selfies with the candidates. Many are excited to meet their political bets personally and want a souvenir photo with them.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is banning candidates from taking photos with the public. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Mayor Isko Moreno wants the poll body to rethink the “No Selfie” rule.

According to the report, Mayor Isko Moreno stressed that it can be the happiness of some people and the poll body may think about a more sensible rule. Meanwhile, he expressed that he understands that the policy is in pursuit to prevent the spread of the virus.

Doc Willie also backed the stand of Mayor Isko regarding the “no selfie” rule. He stressed that there is a low chance of infection in open areas and during caravans unlike in closed spaces.
