COMELEC Approves Honoraria, Pay Hike & Other Allowances for Poll Workers Who Will Serve in 2022 Elections
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has granted the pay hike and other allowances for poll workers in 2022 elections.
On Friday (November 12, 2021), Comelec has released a resolution outlining the amount to be paid to election workers who will serve in the 2022 elections. The poll body granted at least a P2, 000 increase in the honoraria and other allowances of 2022 election workers.
The poll body’s announcement came after several agencies sought an increase due to the longer voting hours set to be held in the May 2022 elections. Slower voting process are expected due to the health protocol.
The chairman of the electoral board (EB), its members, DepEd Supervising Official (DESO), support staff, and medical personnel, a new category would be the beneficiary of honoraria and other allowances.
The Education Department demands for a P3, 000 hike for teachers who will serve during the elections. Poll workers will also receive P500 anti-COVID-19 allowance but the executive-approved 2022 Comelec budget has been reduced, which affects the hike of honoraria.
However, Comelec prefers fully-vaccinated without comorbidities and below 60-year-old poll workers for the 2022 elections.
Here is the Honoria of poll workers for 2022 elections:
- Chairperson of EB – P7,000
- Members of EB – P6,000

- Support staff – P3,000
