Cherie Gil was asked to react to the recent issue about her niece Andi Eigenmann
Award-winning actress Cherie Gil shared her thoughts on the resurfacing of the issue between her niece, Andi Eigenmann, and the latter’s ex-boyfriend Albie Casino.
Because of the controversial statement of Albie on Pinoy Big Brother about his ex-girlfriend, the issue that happened a decade ago resurfaced. The actor stressed that there was no apology coming from the part of Andi after she dragged him into the pregnancy controversy.
However, the camp of Siargao-based actress denied this and her sister even showed proof that a message of apology was sent to the actor. Following the tirade that Albie Casino did on national TV against Andi Eigenmann, he received criticism online.
Amid the bashing he received, his mother Rina Casino defended him and said that Andi knows what really happened back then. She also claimed that Andi would slap her son when they fight. On the other hand, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose, Andi’s mom, claimed that the actor was physically hurting her daughter.
In line with the resurfacing of the issue, Inquirer entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal asked Andi’s aunt, Cherie Gil. The seasoned actress said that just like the past obstacles in the life of her niece, she will also overcome this phase.
For Cherie, the maturity and fearlessness of Andi will also help her triumph against this battle. Here is Cherie Gil’s complete statement:
“I love Andi, and I’m proud of her,” Cherie said. “She’s a strong adult woman. I have no doubt she will face this head-on, like all the other trials she had to face with tremendous courage. We each have our own full cups and journeys to learn from.”
