Manny Pacquiao does not want an online debate
Senator Manny Pacquiao bravely said that he wants to have a face-to-face presidential debate for the 2022 elections and not just a debate online.
It has been a part of the election season in the Philippines that the presidential debate is being held. Through this, the aspirants for the highest position in the government will answer certain issues that mainly concern the country and the Filipino people.
For the election next year, Sen. Pacquiao said that the debate must be face-to-face. With the current health crisis in the Philippines, almost everything is done online because of certain restrictions. However, the lawmaker said that the presidential debate needs to have a “harapan” among the candidates.
“Personal. Face-to-face, bakit online? Ano, natatakot sila?” Manny Pacquiao said, based on the article in PEP. He prefers this setup as he bravely said that he knows what he is doing.
“Wag na online-online para magkaalaman… Sinasabi ko sa inyo, hindi ako papasok dito kung di ko alam gagawin ko,” the boxer-turned-politician stressed.
The Senator also said that he is preparing himself for the discussion about current issues and matters that need to be addressed. Pacquiao added that he has nothing to worry about because he is being truthful and sincere.
“Wala ako tinatago. Sincere naman ako, wala akong kailangan paghandaan na… baka itanong itong bagay na ito na tinatago ko, wala akong ganoon,” he said.
Manny Pacquiao also expressed that, during the presidential debate, he is ready to discuss his platforms and the things he wants to do if people will choose him to be the next president. The presidential aspirant wants to focus on the anti-corruption drive, economic growth and development, and employment. He will also give importance to livelihood, healthcare, and housing.
