Billy Crawford No Regrets To Leave ABS-CBN, Speaks About Loyalty

This is what Billy Crawford said about loyalty and leaving ABS-CBN.

BILLY CRAWFORD – Former Kapamilya artist Billy Crawford said loyalty will not put food on the table and network transfer is worth it.

In a previous article, singer-host Billy Crawford announces his network transfer and the launching of a program where he will be the main host. ABS-CBN has failed to secure a franchise to continue operating and also at that time, his contract with the network has expired. It was tough for him to make decisions.

Formerly, he hosts “It’s Showtime”. It was in 2008 when he became a Kapamilya. And as a host, he hosted several popular shows like ASAPIt’s ShowtimePilipinas Got TalentYour Face Sounds FamiliarPinoy Boyband SuperstarLittle Big Shots, and Search For The Idol Philippines.

When the ABS-CBN shut down, he was one of those who lost a job. It was devastating for him and he’s been through a lot of depressing moments. He even thought of selling everything he has and migrating to other countries with his family because life here, without his job, is not sustainable for them.

But TV5 had offers for him. And his network transfer is something he regarded as worth it. It may sound selfish for people to hear an artist sheltered by a network then eventually leave but in reality, it’s all about where one is coming from. As for his case, the reason why he left is for his family. He went to a home where he will be able to provide for his family.

“Definitely loyalty will not put food on the table. I tell you that,” he said frankly. He and other celebs take other opportunities because they have a family to feed. They aim for security and stability in life just like everyone else. He then spoke about his former network and clarified that he left in a clean slate.

Sharing what really happened when he transferred network, he said, “Ako kasi, kaya medyo napabilis ang paglipat ko dahil wala, e… Wala na akong options.I was just home. Wala na akong ginagawa. Parating na ang baby namin ni Coleen. Kailangan akong kumilos. Anong gagawin ko? Nganga…”

Desperate times made him decide and above everything else, he decided based on his priorities. He added based on a report from PEP, “I don’t regret my decision. I’m happy where I’m at. I’m confident na I’m gonna be guided by God through this journey that we’re in right now.”
