The National Government executed a temporary ban on China‘s poultry products which started yesterday after recognizing a threatening bird flu from the said country.
Departmenrt of Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala responded to the report of China Animal Disease Control Center Director General Dr. Zhang Zhongqui about the outbreak of a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus.
HPAI virus affected the regions of Zhonzhuang, Jiaozhuang and Baody in China as confirmed by the Office Internationale Des Epizooties(OIE) Animal Information Department.
The products included to the import ban are the domestic and wild birds, as well as the poultry meat, day-old chicks and eggs coming from China.
Secretary Alcala also released an order suspending the processing, evaliation, issuance of application and confiscation of shipments of all poultry products from China into the country.
