Bong Go Luckily Survive from Near Accident Over Malfunction of Helicopter He was Riding

Senator Bong Go luckily escaped the accident supposed to happen after the helicopter he was riding from Zamboanga allegedly malfunction.

Senator Christopher Go was on his way to Basilan from Zamboanga City when their chopper broke down, according to a report. Go was planned to attend the unveiling of two Malaskit Centers in Basilan, an island province in Mindanao, according to a story carried on AM radio station DZRH on Sunday.

It was the 135th and 136th facilities to open across the country. The Senator stated in an interview that as the aircraft was en route to its destination, he observed the chopper he was riding was rapidly falling.

The president’s aide added that their chopper was bouncing twice in the air, with the motor producing a weird sound. He revealed that his pilot informed him that the chopper was being pushed down by a tailwind.

Luckily, the pilot regained control and safely landed the helicopter. As a result, Go was able to attend the Malasakit Center’s opening ceremony without involving in an accident.

Sen. Bong Go, speaking in both Cebuano and Tagalog, expressed his belief that he was nearing the end of his life. Nonetheless, he stated he would consider it an honor if the chopper went down and someone died in the process.

“By the grace of God and Allah — I was going to Basilan yesterday — I was safe… I thought it was the end for me,” Sen. Go said.

“For me, as your public servant, it would be an honor to die while serving our countrymen. I’m not really afraid to die. Only God knows when he’s going to take us,” the senator proudly declared, adding that he’s not afraid to die.
