PGH received a donation from Willie Revillame and his TV show
Wowowin host Willie Revillame donates P8-million to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) through his Kapuso game show.
Willie is just among many celebrities who are extending help to less fortunate Filipinos, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. When the lockdown was first implemented in the country, Kuya Wil has already donated food and essential goods.
Even before the worldwide health crisis, the veteran TV host has been helping his fellow Filipinos through his show during calamities. Back in November last year, he even sold his luxury car in order to help the victims of typhoon Ulysses.
Just recently, Willie Revillame once again donated a big amount of money. This time, it is for the PGH, based on the article in Abante Entertainment.
Reportedly, the TV host was saddened when he saw that many patients of the hospital are already staying in the corridor and elsewhere because there was no available space anymore. This situation was due to the unexpected incident when a portion of the hospital caught fire.
Some of the patients are suffering from COVID-19 but there was no available space for them. Kuya Wil immediately donated P1-million to PGH.
Then, he asked three of his friends who are sponsors of Wowowin to donate also and each of them gave P1-million. However, it was said that the veteran TV host felt like P4-million was still a small amount to be donated to PGH.
That was why instead of just the P1-million that he first donated, Willie Revillame made it P5 million. In total, he donated P8-million through his popular TV show.
