Father and Son Suspect of Slaying 2 Children in Bulacan Arrested
Police arrested two (2) suspects identified as father and his stepson for harassing and slaying two (2) young children in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
Two suspects, one of whom is a minor, have been arrested in the deaths of two children in the mountainous region of San Jose Del Monte (SJDM), Bulacan. Romeo Ruzon, 41, a broom maker, and his 17-year-old stepson, both of Brgy. Gumaoc East, were named as the suspects.
Lou Anderson Icalia, 8, of Gumaoc East, and Jenny De Vera, 11, of Gumaoc West, were the victims. According to the investigation, a rubber band similar to the material used to make the suspect’s broom was discovered at the crime scene.

When the perpetrator learned that the authorities were going to search his home on Wednesday night, May 12, he fled. SJDM Police tracked down Romeo’s hiding place in Sampaloc, Manila, with the aid of the suspect’s live-in partner Romina Canlas and the suspect’s brother Rafael Ruzon.
Someone is said to have already received a P100,000 reward from Mayor Arthur Robes for providing information that led to the arrest of those responsible for the crime. When approached by PNP leader Gen. Guillermo Eleazar with only a grate separating them, the perpetrator confessed to his heinous crime.
He expressed sorrow and acknowledged that he is legally responsible for the crime. It will be recalled that on May 12, about 11:40 a.m., two bodies of victims, one of whom was allegedly harassed, were discovered in the thick, grassy, and mountainous areas covered by Brgy. Graveville.
