PNP Reported 30,000 Violators Of ECQ Protocols IN NCR Plus Bubble
30,000 VIOLATORS REPORTED – According to the Philippine National Police, several thousand residents within the NCR Plus Bubble broke ECQ protocol.
In just a week of implementation, over 30,000 residents were tagged as violators according to PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Illdebrandi Usana. These include residents who were caught without face mask and face shields. Furthermore, those who fail to observe social distancing and those in mass gathering occasions were also reported.
Meanwhile, others were caught drinking in public and even in illegal cockfighting events. During an interview with ABS-CBN, Usana stated:
“In general, what we have to ensure is that the people are compliant with the minimum health and safety protocols, social distancing included. That’s the reason out of our efforts, there are about 30,000 violators have already been caught“.
For violators caught, Usana emphasized that no one should be arrested. Instead, should only be given a warning or made to pay fines required by their local governments.
The NCR Plus Bubble, consisting of Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Bulacan has extended its enhanced community quarantine until April 11. Initially, the ECQ was only good for one week. However, due to the surge of COVID-19 cases, the health department recommended an extension.
