Cebu City Hall Announces Half-Day Work in All Government Offices on Holy Wednesday
HOLY WEDNESDAY – Cebu City Hall announced that all government offices would have only a half-day work on Holy Wednesday.
On Wednesday (March 31, 2021), Cebu City’s Public Information Office (PIO) advised the residents to postpone or cancel their trips to City Hall. The government advised the public to continue their transaction after the Holy Week.
Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella said that the city hall would only operate until 2 noon this Holy Wednesday. However, workers assigned at frontline services are still required to standby in case of emergency.

“Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella has made an announcement that half-day work will be implemented at City Hall today, but personnel assigned to render frontline services will be on standby,” PIO said in advisory.
Frontliners assigned at Cebu City Transportation Office, Emergency Operations Center, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and medical services are required to report to work during the Lenten Season.
Labella said in a memorandum order that the half-day schedule has been imposed to give the employees to prepare for the observance of the Holy Week.
