Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Invokes Right in Refusing to Publicize His COVID-19 Test Results

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has invoked his right to privacy in refusing to show his COVID-19 results.

Last week, Roque announced that he tested positive for the coronavirus disease but was asymptomatic. He followed the health and safety protocols and stayed at an isolation facility to avoid the spread of the disease.

The government official also disclosed the rumors that he is stating at a luxury hotel and revealed that he is quarantine at a two-star hotel in San Juan City in compliance with the health protocols and quarantine guidelines.

“Being positive is not a badge of honor. I stayed in an isolation facility; would I do that if I was not positive?” Roque said.

Roque continue to conduct his meetings and transactions online. He also worked remotely in a quarantine facility.

Recently, the 54-year-old lawyer has invoked his right to privacy in refusing to publicize his test results. He also claimed that he is entitled of presumption of pronouncement’s regularity.

 “That’s covered by privacy, why can’t public officials such as the presidential spokesperson be entitled of presumption of regularity of pronouncement?” Roque added.
