18 PNP Personnel Found Using Illegal Drugs after They Test Positive with Drug Tests
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has found 18 of their personnel have tested positive for using illegal drugs since January.
In a report of GMA News, there were eight police offices in the country that police officials were tested positive using illegal drugs. The PNP said the drug test were conducted from January 1 to February 20.
The PNP found two drug users in the National Headquarters; three in the National Capital Region Police Office; two at the Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Luzon.

Also, PRO Calabarzon yields four drug users; one in Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga. Meanwhile in Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region were four personnel found positive.
Based on the report, the PNP said 17 of them were policemen, while one was not a uniformed personnel. The total number of people who tested positive was only 0.009% of the 80,507 total staff who underwent drug testing.
According to the PNP, personnel tested for drug use are only 37% of the organization’s 217,591 total strength. According to the PNP, drug testing is part of the organization’s internal cleaning efforts.
