Caring Teacher Calms Student Worrying for Module Submerged in Flood During Ulysses
A caring teacher keeps her student calm after worrying about the module submerged in the flood during the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses.
On Facebook, a caring teacher named Majie Cartajena touch netizens heart after she shares a heartbreaking conversation with her student during the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses, which cause flooding due to heavy rainfall.
According to her, one of her students contacted her and shared that the self-learning module- the Department of Education (DepEd) distributed to students amid the COVID-19 pandemic – was submerged in the flood.
“Ma’am ianalon po module ko. Basa,” the student said to the teacher with an image of their flooded house. Teacher Majie captured the message and immediately shared it on her Facebook account.
Majie admitted that she did not know how she would feel about the message sent by the student. At the height of Typhoon Ulysses, the student even thought about his studies even though their own lives were in danger.

Because of this, the teacher said not to think about the module first because it can be replaced. The important thing is that the student saves his life as well as his loved ones.
“Wala akong pakealam sa module nyo kung mabasa.. Masmahalaga kaligtasan nyo.. Unahin nyo muna sarili at pamilya nyo. Napapalitan yang mga modules kayo hindi,” she said on her post.
The teacher’s post went viral on social media and earned various reactions from the netizens. Netizens only want him and his family to be safe. Many also wish that it would finish his study, especially with its determination that despite the impending disaster, learning is still on the mind.
