Meralco import Mario West erupted 20 points to outscore the entire Alaska Milk team in the third quarter and fueled Meralco’s breakaway en route to an 84-74 win the PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday night.

Aside from scoring 20 points in just one quarter, Mario West also made an impressive 6-of-12 from the field and 8-of-12 from the stripe, the biggest output by any player in a quarter in the season-ending PBA conference.
With Meralco’s victory the team is currently ranked second over-all in team standing tied with Barako Bull and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at 3-2 win-loss card. The league leading team, Petron Blaze enjoyed a 5-1 win-loss card.
The Alaska Aces on the other hand went down to join fifth with GlobalPort Batang Pier and the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters with 2-2 win-loss card.
