PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, October 23, 2020 (Friday).
The early morning forecast from the state weather bureau says that the trough or extension of Typhoon Saudel (locally called Pepito) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan on this day.
The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to scattered light to moderate rains.
According to GMA News, the Northeasterly Surface Windflow (NESWF) will also affect Extreme Northern Luzon.
Saudel is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and was last spotted at 520 kilometers east of northern Luzon. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 170 kilometers per hour.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Based on the report, for the wind speed forecast, extreme Northern Luzon will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the southwest to south direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
