Army Reservist Shot To Death In Bagong Silang, Caloocan City

CALOOCAN CITY – An army reservist, 70 years of age, was recently shot to death by an unknown assailant in a market in Caloocan City.

The incident took place in a market owned by the said victim in Bagong Silang in the city, according to a report from ABS-CBN News.

Authorities identified the fatality as Alfredo Orpeza, a reservist from the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Police investigations show that a riding-in-tandem suddenly stopped at the front of Orpeza’s store. They then proceeded to shoot the victim to death. The unknown assailants then proceeded to escape from the scene of the crime.

Based on the report, the police continue to conduct further investigation to determine the motive of the crime.

The police chief was about to head home to San Fernando, Pampanga when it was ambushed at 6 in the evening.

The victim and his driver was able to get out of the vehicle. However, Villanueva was shot in the head, causing his death. The Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered five bullet shells from the scene of the crime.
