The incident was said to have taken place inside the compound of the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company (IPMFC) in the said area, according to a report from Panay News.

The officer, identified as Police Major Terrence Paul Sta. Ana was assigned at the Regional Learning Doctrine Development Division (RLDDD) of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6). He was under restriction since last week.

He was allegedly drunk when he fired his gun twice. This caught attention of his fellow policemen who got out from their offices.

Sta. Ana subsequently left the camp and voluntarily submitted himself to the PRO-6. He turned over his short service firearm to the Regional Logistics and Research Development Division (RLRDD) for ballistic examination.

The Regional Internal Affairs Service of PRO-6 took the said case.

The PRO-6’s Regional Internal Affairs Service will be in charge of Sta. Ana’s case. Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, PRO-6 director, said that the police does not tolerate any misconduct of its personnel and ensured a fair investigation.

“The PRO-6 does not tolerate any misconduct of its personnel and with our intensified efforts on internal cleansing, we will ensure a fair investigation,”

Sta. Ana denied allegations that he was drunk but admitted that he did his gun twice, based on the report.

The Police Major said that he visited the camp in order to check how prepared the police in the area as a part of their target hardening. He also claimed that when he entered the camp, there were no personnel posting in the sentinel area, irking the officer.

“I will face the consequences of what I did. I’m ready to submit myself for an investigation. I submitted myself for restriction and I already turned over my gun,”
