Gary David Led GlobalPort’s Victory Against Alaska 91-88

Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Gary David was given tribute by the PBA before the GlobalPort vs. Alaska Aces games held on Friday, August 23 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Gary David made the most important shot during GlobalPort’s victory against the debuting Aces with the final score at 91-88. The 35-year-old Gary David hit the game-winning three-pointer with just 9.3 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and spoiled Alaska’s debut game in the Governors Cup.

GlobalPort’s victory in the Governor’s Cup is their second win after three matches. The Batang Pier first defeated Air21 Express through the leadership of import Markeith Cummings. The team’s only loss came at the expense of Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

GlobalPort import Markeith Cummings topscored for GlobalPort as he finished with 28 points and 9 rebounds. Willie Miller added with 14 points, Jay Washington scored with 11 points and 9 rebounds while Gary David finished with just 10 points and with the most important shot in the game.

On Alaska’s side, their import Wendell McKines scored with 28 points and 13 rebounds, Sonny Thoss added with 16 points. Cyrus Baguio contributed with 13 points and Casio added with 11 points but prized-rookie Calvin Abueva scored with just 7 points.
