The depending champion of the Governors Cup made an early lead in team standing of the 2013 edition after they defeated GlobalPort with the final score at 94-74 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Rain or Shine import Arizona Reid contributed with steady points scoring with 27 markers, added by a breakout performance of Ryan Arana who helped the Elasto Painters to victory against rival GlobalPort.
Arana had 17 of his 21 points in the second and third periods as the Elasto Painters turned a close game before dominating the final and fourth quarter with their good defense and solid execution. On GlobalPort’s side import Markeith Cummings scored with 23 points and failed to duplicate his previous best performance of 37 points because of the defense employed by Elasto Painters defenders.
