Malacañang Palace Suspends Government Work on Monday Afternoon (Sept 28) to Celebrate Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day

The Malacañang Palace announced the suspension of work in government officers starting 3:30 pm on Monday afternoon (September 28, 2020).

The Office of the President has released the Memorandum Circular No. 80 declaring the suspension of work in government officer under the Executive branch. The announcement would take effect starting 3:30 pm today.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed the memorandum last September 25, 2020. The memorandum encourages the other branches of government agencies and private sectors to implement the same program.

The memorandum aims to give government employees the full opportunity to celebrate the “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day”. The Palace wants to give way for the observance of Family Week.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government encourages parents to frequently eat together with their children. The 1992 Palace proclamation declares the last week of every September as Family Week.

However, the directive states that the government agencies tasked for the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and the performance of other vital services are still required to continue their operations.
