Civil Engineer Shares Japanese-style Transform from Simple Room Goes Viral

A graduate of civil engineer goes viral online after he shares how he transform his simple room into an impressive Japanese-style makeover.

Sonder Agustin is a civil engineering fresh graduate from Ilocos Norte share on his Facebook account the impressive before and after photos of his Japanese-style room makeover he did at his own bedroom.

“I’m posting my room again because this time it is the “ULTIMATE ROOM MAKEOVER”. And I’m proud of myself because I made my own room transformation with the help of my friends (Artist’s Minimalist Room),” his caption on his Facebook post.

The photos he shared show the “Japanese-inspired” newly renovated bedroom. Its walls are a “hand-painted mural” of mountains and ocean waves that he painted himself.

There are also “floating bookshelves” attached to the wall, tensegrity table, and kohiteburo or coffee table that he himself created because he is in the business of making customized furniture. Another of the comforting items in her room is the Japanese-inspired platform bed.

“Fresh graduate po ako as civil engineer, and may small woodwork-shop ako and I accept made to order customized furniture and sideline ko rin po ang mural paintings. And I’m planning to make a construction firm hopefully,” Sonder said.

“Naisipan kong mag-renovate ng room kasi I graduated this year as a civil engineer, kaya lang po due to the pandemic hindi kami makakapag-board exam this year. Kaya para naman may pagkalibangan ako dahil bakante naman ako, nag-request ako sa family ko na kung puwede magpatayo ako ng woodworks-shop kahit small lang,” he added.

According to him, he spent almost 100,000 pesos for the renovation, including labor costs. Now that he completed the bedroom makeover, Agustin is busy with his small furniture business.
