Photo of Teenage Girl Selling ‘Balut’ to Support Family Circulates Online
The tear-jerking photo of a teenage girl selling ‘balut’ late at night just to feed her pregnant mom and younger siblings.
A Facebook user named Lief Reyes has shared the photo of a 16-year-old lady selling ‘Balut’ to earn money to support the financial necessities of their family. The photo is now circulating online.
Reyes said that the young woman is selling ‘Balut’ late at night and usually earns P80 to P150. The hardworking lady is the eldest among siblings and doing her best to earn money for her younger siblings and her pregnant mother.
The concerned netizen also revealed that the girl is also attending her online and just renting gadgets for the new learning system. The girl is enduring the hardships of working at a young age just to earn.
Several good-hearted citizens give the girl some packs of milk and relief goods but it would just only last for a few days. Reyes also urged the politicians to do their part and help our countrymen experiencing extreme poverty.

“Hirap maging mahirap sa Pinas..
16 years old na dalagita yung naka-itim. Nagbebenta siya ng Balot nang ganitong oras. 80 pesos to 150 pesos daw ang kinikita nila.
Panganay siya sa magkakapatid, marami pa siyang kapatid na bata. Yung nanay niya ay buntis tapos yung tatay niya ay wala na(hindi siya makasagot nang maayos).
Nakakalungkot lang! Habang yung mga politikong corrupt ay nagpapakasasa sa nakurakot nila, etong bata ay kailangan magbanat nang buto.
Naiimagine niyo ba? 16 years old! Tapos online class pa raw sila, hindi niya rin alam ang gagawin. Baka raw magrenta na lang sila at magbayad.
Hindi ‘to inspiring e. Nakakagalit to! Dapat may programa sakanila! Dapat may umaagapay sa mga nangangailangan!
Salamat ho sa mga nagbigay ng gatas at mga relief goods, naabutan po silang dalawa. Pero alam naman natin na hindi ‘yun sapat! Hindi sapat ang inisyatibo ng taumbayan!
Ang kailangan natin ay mga progresibong lider na maayos ang pamamalakad at hindi puro general ang inaappoint. Gising na tayo!
