ABS-CBN Tulong Center is now closed
Kapamilya network’s public service department ABS-CBN Tulong center stopped its operation with a P3.93 billion net loss.
Following the denial of ABS-CBN franchise application, several departments and companies affiliated with the media company also stopped operating. In the recent Facebook post of ABS-CBN Integrated Public Service, it announced that providing service for the needy will no longer be possible.
The Tulong Center has extended help for sick individuals, those who have labor concerns, and overseas Filipino workers who suffered from abuse in the Middle East. Reportedly, the center was already able to help 55,000 Filipinos from 2014.
Aside from the ABS-CBN Tulong Center, the network’s foundation also got affected by the franchise denial. Meanwhile, the operations of Sagip Kapamilya, Bantay Bata 163, and Bantay Kalikasan will be limited now.
Based on the article from Pilipino Star Ngayon, provincial offices of Bantay Bata will be closed as ABS-CBN has not secured a franchise. We’d be happy to accept donations,” Bantay Bata 163 advocate Jing Castañeda said.
Because of this, several projects connected to the network will also stop such as HaPinay Convention of DZMM, Kapamilya Day, Global Pinoy Idol, Maligayang Paslit, Red Alert Emergency Expo of DZMM, and INCA Grand Kapamilya Christmas Fair.
Grand Halad sa Kapamilya, relief operations and public service events of ABS-CBN Regional will no longer be available also.
