Angeline Quinto has a designated place for Regine Velasquez
Singer Angeline Quinto revealed the story behind her “altar” for Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.
Regine is one of the most-respected icon in the Philippine music industry. It is not a wonder that she has become the inspiration of many aspiring singers and one of them is Angeline.
During the recent episode of the online talk show I Feel U, these two amazing singers were the guests. Regine shared that she first met Angeline during the Star For A Night contest, based on the article from Bandera.
“Hindi ko alam na naglu-look up siya sa akin, hindi ko alam na gusto niya ang mga kanta ko, hindi ko alam talaga. That was the first time I saw her she was a baby, batang-bata, singkit na singkit pero, bibong-bibo na talaga siya,” the wife of OPM icon Ogie Alcasid said.

Regine said that her father told her that there was a contestant who really wanted to have a photo with her. “Sabi nu’ng nanay, ‘may altar ka daw,’ may altar daw ako sa bahay nila!” the Songbird added.
Angeline Quinto said that her Mama Bob was talking about a place in their house where she put all the photos of Regine Velasquez like an “altar”.
She added that during her elementary years, that has become a hobby of her to collect photos of the Songbird. “Kapag birthday ko, wala silang ibang nireregalo sa akin kundi mga ginupit na picture ni Miss Rega sa magazine at dyaryo, naka-envelope yun tapos ididikit ko lahat,” the younger singer shared.
Angeline also said that until now, she still feels the same towards Regine. The latter said that she is proud to be part of Angeline’s journey in her music career.
