VILMA SANTOS – The Lipa, Batangas Representative danced to the song “Fight Song” for the frontliners.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a very huge challenge that over 200 countries and territories are fighting against now. The Philippines is one of these nations with confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Back in December 2019, China recorded cases of a coronavirus in Wuhan City. An outbreak abruptly occurred and, beginning January 2020, several other nations recorded cases of the disease.

In the Philippines, there is now a total of 119,460 cases of COVID-19 recorded by the Department of Health (DOH). Out of the said total number, the death toll is at 2,150 while the recoveries are at 66,837.

Several hospitals in the Philippines have already declared a full capacity for COVID-19 patients. Many doctors, nurses, and hospital staff have also contracted the disease and are under quarantine now.

Recently, several groups of doctors and medical workers asked for an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) as a breather for them to strengthen the preparations. To this, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte placed Metro Manila and several other areas back to MECQ.

One of the famous personalities who is vocal about her support and salute to the frontliners amid the COVID-19 pandemic is Lipa, Batangas Rep. Vilma Santos.
