15 Quezon City Police Officers Now Under Investigation
QUEZON CITY POLICE OFFICERS – Fifteen (15) cops from Quezon City were relieved from their posts following the escape of six (6) Chinese Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
It is illegal for foreigners to work in the Philippines without the required documents and the visa. Last December, the Bureau of Customs have arrested several foreigners including Chinese who are working in the country without the proper documents.

These individuals are detained and charged may be filed against them. It is the duty of the police officers to guard the detainees as they are under their custody.
However, recently, six (6) Chinese considered as Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in Quezon City were able to escape from the jail. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the police on duty may be facing charges over the incident.
According to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director brigadier General Ronnie Montejo, the said 15 cops are investigated for possible “evasion through negligence” violation under the Revised Penal Code.
The Police said that it was Monday evening when they found out that the six (6) Chinese PDLs are no longer in their detention facility in Camp Karingal. They are among the 300 foreign nationals arrested by the BOC last December for having no requirements to work in the country.
Based on the report, these PDLs were once again nabbed by the authorities. They got arrested at the corner of Mapagkumbaba Street and Fulgencio Street in Barangay Krus the eve of the following day.
Currently, the investigation is still ongoing. Aside from criminal charges, administrative charges may also be filed against the cops.
