President Duterte Emotional During Public Address Due To This Reason

Amid addressing the public, President Duterte become emotional.

PRESIDENT DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte went emotional during his public address and this is due to this reason.

At the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang, President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines made a public address held late night of May 19 tackling the situation of the country amid the serious pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The public address was made after he spent a week in Davao for work and to also spend time with his family as lockdown has been lifted a couple of months after.

While discussing, the president recalled a song which touched a string of his emotions with everything that’s happening in the country. The song talks about the story of a person who needs to be healthy to save other people.

No criminals or lawbreakers will have a chance to beat this person. Also, the message of the song encourages the people to fight and unite for healing. He hopes that the people got what the government is trying to relay.

Here’s the lyrics that made the president all emotional during a public address:

“‘Di ka umaatras sa sakit na marahas Kailangan mo magpalakas para sila’y mailigtas
Buwis ang iyong buhay, handang matanggap ‘pag ikaw ay mamatay
Asawa’t anak na hindi masilayan
Pamilya mong iiwan mong luhaan

Masdan niyo ang mundo
Isipa’y imulat, magigising lahat
‘Paglaban niyo ang mundo
Kung magkaisa ang lahat
Hihilom ang sugat

Ikaw ang bantay sa lagusan
Protektahan ang mga mamamayan
‘Di uubra ang mga susuway, mga kriminal, at pasaway”

Also, according to the report of Manila Bulletin, he vowed to be transparent over the billions of money which have been released to combat the pandemic and its effects “except those who were malversed by the officials”. In terms of those amount that have disappeared in the local governments, they are the ones to address it.

And he added, “But otherwise, to the last centavo, naibigay namin sa tao ang programa sa gobyerno.”

On the other hand, as of May 19, the Philippines has recorded 12,942 confirmed cases of coronavirus positive patients, more than 800 deaths, and 2,843 recoveries. Globally, the total cases is nearly 5 million already and claimed over 320,000 lives.
