According to Panay News, Leonardia declared this via Executive Order No. 28 on Tuesday. He added that the said areas are neighborhoods that have residents who are confirmed COVID-19 positive and aren’t recovered and fatalities with symptoms but having test results unconfirmed.

He said that villages should place said homes and neighborhoods under complete lockdown for 14 days in coordination with the City Health Office (CHO).

The order also mandates all village officials and staff personnel aided by police officers conduct inspections to see the extent of the lockdown area and the when the lockdown will start to initiate.

For areas with fenced houses, the lockdown may cover the patient’s household, as well as all people in certain residences.

As for those with residences separated by walls, it covers houses at both sides and the back of the patient’s home, as well as all of their households.

For very populated areas, it covers a radius of about 50 meters from the patient’s house, as well as residents in that radius.

Based on the report, the order also states that policemen and barangay officials will conduct a housee-to-house visit to inform the residents of the lockdown status, further giving them the contact number of the Barangay health Emergency Response Teams, who will oversee the purchase of needs households requests.

Stores-on-wheels can also serve the outside border of the lockdown and must be subjected to special permits from the City Mayor’s Office, CHO and barangays.
