Another Coronavirus Death Recorded in PH – Patient is UP Diliman Professor & Former Dean
UP Diliman Professor and UP Asian Center former dean Dr. Aileen S.P. Baviera died of severe pneumonia due to coronavirus, the university confirmed.
Currently, there is a total of 230 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines. The government and the authorities are implementing measures to curb the spread of the disease.
The 2019 coronavirus, officially called as COVID-19, can really lead to thousands of deaths if the spread of its infection is not contained. That is what it did to China and Italy.
In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded eighteen (18) deaths due to the 2019 coronavirus. Eight (8) people have recovered from the disease.
Recently, another coronavirus patient died of the disease. Based on Manila Bulletin News, UP Diliman professor and UP Asian Center former dean Dr. Aileen S.P. Baviera died of severe pneumonia caused by coronavirus.
In the post, Dr. Baviera was referred to as “one of the country’s foremost sinologist”. She expired at 3:55 in the morning today, March 21, 2020, at the San Lazaro Hospital.
